Maria Eugenia Stellato & Adriana Perez

_ Maria Eugenia Stellato L.A c. MS
Maria Eugenia Stellato, born in Argentina and raised and educated in Miami, is a highly driven individual who deeply believes that bringing people into balance is the key to preventing and treating disease.  She recognizes the integration of all aspects of health -- personal, environmental and social -- and strongly believes in the benefits of a plant-based diet, exercise and rest, a healthy environment, and psychological well-being.  To that end, she has pursued a career in medicine, including oriental medicine and acupuncture.  Today, Maria treats patients with a holistic focus, using acupuncture, Chinese herbs, dietary and lifestyle counseling.  She keeps a vegan diet and practices meditation.

Maria’s interest in the connection between the body and mind began while studying psychology at Florida International University (FIU).   In 2002, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from FIU.   In 2005, she obtained a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, with an emphasis in group dynamics and peer pressure, from Carlos Albizu University (CAU).

While pursuing her Master in I/O Psychology, Maria completed a practicum at Florida Power &Light (FPL) at the FPL-WELL Employee Assistance Program (EAP), where she helped to coordinate healthy lunches, meditation group breaks, and conducted research for plans to demonstrate to top executives the importance of healthy lifestyle and healthy programs for employees and employers.

Her experience at FPL’s EAP left Maria wanting more, and she immersed herself in the study of alternative medicine.  In 2008, she obtained a Diploma in Oriental Medicine  from the Acupuncture Massage College.  She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Holistic Nutrition at Clayton University.

Maria is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Florida and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (“NCCAOM”).  In addition, she is a member of several organizations, including: the American psychological Association (APA), a scientific and professional organization that represents psychologists in the United States; Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, an organization that promotes excellence and integrity in the professional practice of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in order to enhance public health and well-being; the National Health Association, an organization whose mission is to educate and empower individuals to understand that health results from healthful living; and, EarthSave Miami, an organization that educates people about the powerful effects our food choices have on the environment, our health and all life on Earth, and encourages a shift toward a healthy, plant-based diet, where she also volunteers.  Maria is also featured in the Biltmore Who's Who Registry, and the National Association of Professional Women.

_ Adriana PerezL.A c. MS

Adriana Perez has always been dedicated to a holistic approach to healing.  Growing up in Medellin, Colombia, Adriana witnessed her grandmother, the town's healer, use herbs, teas and other alternative methods to cure ailments.

Inspired by her grandmother, Upon graduating from High School in Colombia, Adriana moved back to Miami to learn traditional ways of healing.  In 2000 she obtained a medical assistant degree from Miami-Dade Community College.  In 2001, she received certification as a Plebotomoy Technician, and was planning to become a registered nurse.

Adriana, however, postponed nursing school when a family member faced serious health issues and needed her care. It was during this time that Adriana felt disillusioned with traditional eastern medicine and doctors.   While she acknowledged that traditional medicine was necessary to cure serious illnesses, she felt that the medical professionals responsible for the treatment had offered very little hope.  Once dismissed by the hospital, Adriana and her family looked for alternative options to treat the many side effects the strong medicine that had been administered had caused.

It was at this time that Adriana felt compelled to seek a career path that would allow her to heal those in need in a comprehensive and holistic manner.  She enrolled in a massage therapy program where she explored the human body and its healing properties.  She further her training in homeopathic, oriental medicine, and nutrition. In 2008 she obtained a Masters in Oriental Medicine from the Acupuncture Massage College.

One of Adriana’s objectives has always been to bring this alternative approach to medicine to all.  As a result, she has instituted community acupuncture in her practice for those whose financial situations would otherwise be an obstacle to obtaining this highly specialized degree of care.

Adriana is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Florida and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (“NCCAOM”).

She is also a licensed skin care specialist in Florida, a Reiki master and a certified hypnotist.  She incorporates all aspects of her training and background to the treatment of her patients.
The most important factor for her is empowering the patient to realize that they have the necessary healing power within themselves, and that their treatment goals can be realized through education and lifestyle changes.
